Georgia quarterback Zack Mettenberg was arrested over the weekend in Remerton, Ga. on 5 misdemeanor charges according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Remerton Police Chief Mike Terrell said 18 year old Mettenberg was charged with underage consumption/possession of alcohol, disorderly conduct, obstruction and two counts of having fake identification.

Florida Defensive Tackle Arrested on Two Charges of Battery

19 year old Gary Brown was arrested 7:49 a.m. Sunday morning on misdemeanor battery charges.

Brown allegedly slapped one girl in the face with an open palm and scratched another girl on the arm.

According to Ben Volin of the Palm Beach Post, Gary Brown’s athlete profile on the University of Florida’s Web site describes him as a “menacing” defender.

Kentucky’s Joker Phillips’ first recruiting class is also in the books with 24 signees.
Georgia had 18 signees in this year’s recruiting class.
Arkansas announced 25 signees for their 2010 recruiting class.
Vanderbilt finishes the day with 24 signees in their recruiting class.
South Carolina announced 23 signees in their recruiting class.

Running back Marcus Lattimore announced tonight that he will attend the University of South Carolina. Lattimore chose the Gamecocks over the Auburn Tigers. He even pulled a little hat trick during the announcement ceremony held at a local church. Here is the video.

Offensive lineman Arie Kouandjio announced this evening that tomorrow he will sign with the University of Alabama. Kouandjio chose the Tide over New Mexico and Southern California.

Receiver Da’Rick Rogers has changed his commitment from Georgia to the University of Tennessee. Rogers high school teammate, quarterback Nash Nance, will also attend Tennessee. Rogers is considered one of the top receivers in the nation.
